We demonstrate that flexible transparent film heaters (TFHs) with excellent performances can be fabricated from solution-processible metallic nanowire thin films. The TFHs were first deposited on glass and heating performances were monitored at different applied voltages. Highly flexible transparent electrodes on 10 µm thin polyethylenenaphthalate substrate were characterized, and the deposited metal amount was estimated by ICP-OES measurements. It was found to be remarkably low, confirming that this technology is a high-performance and cost efficient alternative to TFHs based on transparent conductive oxides. We will also present some applications of these thin film heaters on functional devices.
