Facile Preparation of Graphene Composite Materials and Their Application

We have successfully achieved the new preparation technique of graphene oxide from graphite with “Rapid Hummers method”. The graphene oxide was functionalized by selective reduction of C-O bonds and by making composites with metal nanoparticles, conductive polymers or oriented carbon nanotubes. We have also investigated the formation mechanism of graphene oxide by Hummers method. Based on the mechanism, controlling of the oxygen content of graphene oxide was achieved.
