In the present work we investigate the influence of multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) on the thermal and electrical properties of a polyamide 6 (PA6) matrix by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and dielectric relaxation spectroscopy (DRS) respectively. Significant changes are observed during crystallization on addition of MWCNTs. The main PA6 crystallization peak shifts to higher temperatures indicating that MWCNTs act as nucleating agents. Furthemore, a second peak is observed at nanocomposites which is related to the presence of MWCNTs. AC conductivity measurements indicate that that the transition from the insulative to the conductive phase is between 2.5-5.0% CNTs. Futhermore, aspect ratio of the inclusions was calculated using various theoritical models.
