Multiscale modeling carbon nanotube growth on a supercapacitor electrode

,

Keywords: , ,

Recently, the supercapacitors utilizing Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) were reported. Currently, the fabrication of CNT-based supercapacitors involves manipulation of CNTs that is difficult and expensive owing to tiny size of CNTs. The direct deposition of well graphitized CNTs on aluminum-based electrode has not been reported yet because of the high growth temperature of CNTs (~ 700C) which would damage the electrode. This problem was addressed in the current work through virtual design of CNT growth at reduced temperature.
