Sulfur-33 Nanoparticles: A Possible Target for Neutron Capture Therapy of Cancer

,

Keywords: , , ,

Sulfur nanoparticles, enriched in the isotope S-33 are potential neutron capturers for enhancing neutron radiation dose in tumors, because of a nuclear reaction of this isotope which produces a high energy alpha particle which delivers all the energy in a range of a cell size. A Monte Carlo study of this hypothesis is presented.
