We have established ‘Room-Temperature Printed Electronics (RTPE)’ as the new fabrication method for thin-film electronic devices, which can be carried out under ambient atmospheric condition at room temperature without application of heat. Thermal damage is completely avoided due to the room-temperature process, which allows the direct formation of fully-printed electronic devices onto any kind of heat-sensitive materials including paper and bio materials. Device fabrication based on this simple printing process under ambient conditions is a low-cost and high-throughput process with minimum environmental burden and energy consumption. The RTPE permitted us high-resolution patterning and accurate alignment among the different layers of devices on a heat-sensitive substrate. Thus we demonstrated fully-printed organic thin-film transistors on a flexible substrate. Our recent results will be presented.
