This work has as aim the development of Ni catalysts supported in α-Al2O3/ZnO, Al2O3/Fe2O3 and Al2O3/ZrO2 to be applied in to catalytic reaction of the steam reforming of the methane. The Al2O3/ZnO, Al2O3/Fe2O3 and Al2O3/ZrO2 catalytic support was obtained by synthesis method of the combustion reaction using an vitreous silica crucible as container. The combustion (ignition) occurred inside an oven pre-heated at 500°C. The catalytic support were characterized by X-ray diffraction, adsorption/desorption of N2 by BET method, SEM, TEM and FTIR. The support was submitted to impregnation with 1.5% Ni by humid method. After of the impregnation the catalyst was characterized by adsorption/desorption of N2 for BET and submitted to catalytic test in row of seats scale. The activity of the 1.5%Ni/Al2O3/ZnO catalyst presents about stable from the 250 min of reaction keeping comes in 40 e 50% of conversion, as it shows Figure 2, it occurred a fast fall in the catalytic activity at the beginning of the reaction, probably caused by coke formation or nickel sintering. 1.5%Ni/Al2O3/Fe2O3 and 1.5%Ni/Al2O3/ZrO2 catalysts were tested under the same reaction conditions but showed lower catalytic performance, ie, had lower percentages of conversion when compared to the 1.5%Ni/Al2O3/ZnO catalyst.
