Multilayer Architectures of Enzymes on Electrodes for Sensorial Application – Influence of the Building Blocks on the Assembly Behaviour

,

Keywords: , , , , ,

The presentation will illustrate how redox proteins can be arranged in multiple layers on electrodes while retaining full electroactivity without the use of mediators. Enzymes can be integrated into such systems to result in sensing electrodes the sensitivity of which can be tuned by the number of layers deposited. These protein architectures represent not only an interesting approach for analyte detection but also appear as biomimetic systems following natural examples. The influence of different building blocks used for the assembly formation by means of the layer-by-layer method will be discussed.
