The current work represents an important step in a search for novel materials and experimental techniques that would allow for controllable and inexpensive methods of surface patterning with nanoscale resolution. The novelty of the nanopatterning approach that we present lies in a combination of new ion-containing material, polymerized ionic liquid, and strong localized electric field.
