Solar energy, as a clean and sustainable resource, has great potential to take place of the traditional energy source. While the low photoelectric conversion efficiency limits the application of solar cells to a great extent. And high transmission loss and mismatching between solar spectrum and wavelength response range are the main reasons. Anti-reflective and wavelength conversion are two predominant solutions to solve this problem. However, technology of anti-reflective so mature that it has little promotion space, while the wavelength conversion layer exists the problem of low transmission. In this study, Eu3+ and Tb3+ co-doped Y2O3 spherical particles were prepared via the simple, cost-effective urea homogeneous precipitation method. Then, the chosen particles were added in the self-made SiO2 sols to get anti-reflection and wavelength conversion bifunctional films. Moreover, careful investigations were carried out to find the optimal conditions. Results showed that the films as-prepared can improve the photoelectric conversion efficiency by reducing the sunlight loss and modifying the solar spectrum at the same time. And the photoelectric conversion efficiency test results confirmed the enhancement effect.
