Keywords: cetyltrimethylammonium bromide, high efficiencies, organic-quantum dot hybrid solar cell
We fabricated high efficiency organic-quantum dot hybrid solar cells. By employing the hybrid active layer, which absorbed the light in wide range, the short circuit current (Jsc) is increased due to a multiple exciton generation from PbS colloidal quantum dots (CQDs). We focused on increasing open circuit voltage (Voc) through inserting cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB) layer. The pristine organic solar cell achieved power conversion efficiency (PCE) of 1.02%, on the other hands CTAB only organic solar cell records 1.55%. Also, pristine organic-quantum dot hybrid solar cell achieved PCE of 0.58%, compared to CTAB treated organic-quantum dot hybrid solar cell of 1.16%. The high efficiencies are attributed to a decrease in surface recombination centers by CTAB surface treatment.
