Ferrospinels have been shown to have promising oxidative and catalytic properties. Our research focuses on novel magnetic manganese ferrite catalysts which have been developed and thoroughly characterized. Their potential application as oxidative catalysts/sorption in removal of organics from aqueous systems have also been explored. Such a novel method of preparation results in a quick and easier way of synthesis that makes it more applicable to large scale applications. Also, the separation of the catalyst via their magnetic properties makes it easier for removal after treatment process.
