Carbon fabric reinforced polymers (CFRPs) are being increasingly used as advanced composites for structural materials applications, especially in aircraft industry because of very high specific strength and modulus apart from their higher thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance etc. The properties of high performance composites get enhanced multi-fold by inclusion of fillers, solid lubricants, in micron and nanoscale range. Incorporation of small amount of nano-particles in polymers significantly enhances the tribo-performance properties. Present study comprises the influence of micron and nano scale range solid lubricants on high performance CF-PES polymer composites.
