Alignate films require its precise characterization of mechanical and thermo-mechanial properties, which are useful for several potential applications in environmental protection, biotechnology, and others areas. Therefore, this work study the aforementioned film properties of sodium alginate cross-linked with divalent Ca2+ and Ba2+ ions. For this aim, Ca and Ba alginate films were synthesized via an immersion technique, where the solution concentrations and curing times were controlled. X-ray diffraction, Fourier-transform infrared and Raman spectroscopy techniques confirmed the development of the Ca- or Ba-alginate structures. In the same way, Glass transition temperature, coefficient of thermal expansion were confirm by Thermomechanical analysis. By other hand, Complex modulus will be confirmed by using Dynamic mechanical analysis.
