Estimates predict that within a few years, we will need trillions of sensors to match the global development of wireless communications and computation. Chemical and gas sensors are an integral part of this need for sensors in the future trillion sensor universe for environment, health, infrastructure and industrial monitoring. Novel application of printed electronics fabrication techniques combined with nano-catalysts for gas sensing have produced a gas sensor product line in a new tiny/thin chip-scale form factor, very low cost, and ultra -low power package with high performance capabilities. This disruptive technology enables new applications heretofore not possible in distributed sensing in a wide range of consumer and industrial applications. Results for CO, alcohol, H2S, Ozone, and many other sensors are now presented that enable design of modern gas sensing wireless platforms.
