Oxide ion conducting materials are attracting more due to their application in various fields like solid oxide fuel cells, oxygen sensors, oxygen pumps, etc. Doped Scheelite type materials are one of the better oxide ion conductors for the above mentioned applications. Hence, the present paper reports the synthesis of Schellite type BaMoO4 sample by acrylamide assisted combustion process. Prepared BaMoO4 sample is characterized by XRD, FTIR and SEM-EDAX techniques and studied its electrical conductivity through impedance measurements. XRD pattern of the BaMoO4 sample obtained at different calcined temperatures and confirmed the formation of the scheelite type BaMoO4 crystalline phase. FTIR spectra confirm the removal of organic residues and also confirm the formation of MoO3 structure at higher calcined temperatures. SEM micrograph showed an agglomerated spherical particles of BaMoO4 sample obtained at different calcined temperatures and their particles size measured ~100 to ~300nm. For the sintered BaMoO4 crystalline material, Electrical conductivity of grain and grain boundary effects respectively evaluated from the impedance plot, measured at different temperatures.
