The Nanomaterial Registry provides an authoritative, central location for nanomaterial data sharing in order to accelerate nanomaterial innovations as well as discoveries around nanomaterial biological and environmental implications. The National Nanotechnology Initiative on the Nanotechnology Knowledge Infrastructure stresses the central issues hindering community data collaboration: the standardization of data management procedures and public access to a sustainable data sharing system. The Registry offers solutions to both of these issues through its evergreen data curation procedures, uniform structuring of data, and public website which allows for collaborative analysis by the community.
