Degradable polymeric materials that can be storage for months in aqueous enviroment before undergoing on-command controlled swelling and degradation were prepared and their kinetics of swelling and degradation were evaluated. The swelling and degradation rates of these hydrogels can be altered by changing the composition of the precursos in the synthetic recipe. Demonstration of dye release as preliminary evidence of drug delivery use is under current investigation.
