Multifunctional Nanocomposites for Oil and Gas

,

Keywords: , , ,

The ability to design and manufacture highly engineered multiphase materials enables the independent (actually interdependent) control over physical and mechanical properties, and kinetic response of structural materials. The production of “materials that do more” offer significant potential benefits in oil and gas stimulation and completion operations. The properties and target applications of engineered-response nanocomposite metallic and polymeric composites will be presented and discussed, highlighting the use of engineered response composites for temporary flow isolation, sand control, and well stimulation applications.
