In this paper, we present design methodologies for magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) complex flow generation in a simple straight microchannel in which electrodes are patterned on two side walls and bottom wall. The required applied voltage conditions at the electrodes under the constant magnetic field to generate (1) axial, (2) transverse, (3) sinusoidal and (4) multi-vortical flows are discussed. CFD simulations confirm the successful generations of the designed four types of complex flows inside the microchannel according to the designed voltage conditions.
