This paper expands on the existing literature of CNT polymer interfaces and describes the development of a multiscale computational model used to investigate the interfacial properties of nonbonded CNT polymer systems. Specifically, in this work, the interfacial properties of CNT polymer composites are investigated by simulating a nanotube pull-out experiment. The effects of such parameters as the CNT embedded length, the number of vdW interactions, the thickness of the interface and the cut-off distance of the LJ potential on the interfacial shear strength are investigated and discussed. In addition, the study highlights the importance of considering the initial vdW interactions occurring at the embedded end of the CNT polymer computational cell that existing models ignore.
