This paper investigate the thermo physical properties such as thermal conductivity and viscosity of Al2O3/DMAC nanofluid both by experimental and theoretical. The Al2O3 nanoparticle is prepared using microwave assisted chemical precipitation method. Then Al2O3/DMAC nanofluid is prepared at various volume concentrations from 0.1% to 1.5% in an ultrasonic bath without adding surfactants. The theoretical thermal conductivity and viscosity are determined using Maxwell equation and Batchelor equation respectively. Experimental thermal conductivity was measured at room temperature by KD2 pro and viscosity is measured by Brookfield cone and plate viscometer. It was found from the results that both thermal conductivity and viscosity of nanofluids increase with the nanoparticle volume concentration. The increase in viscosity is substantially higher than increase in the thermal conductivity.
