Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) and other strongly aggregated materials by van der Waals’ force are known for their excellent material properties with fewer amounts when they are deagglomerated and dispersed. Nano pre-mixer’s, PR-1* (THINKY, Japan), operating principle is to irradiate ultrasonic simultaneously from two directions, side and bottom, to disperse the CNTs while the enclosed vessel rotates at high speed. Using PR-1, a test was conducted to disperse NC7000TM (Nanocyl SA) to primary fiber. For 5 mg of NC7000, 5 ml of 1 mM sodium deoxycholtae dispersing agent was added, and the final concentration of 1 mg/ml was prepared. The test was conducted under ultrasonic output of 70 W x 2, 40 Hz and the rotation speed of the vessel at 500 rpm. From the dispersibility evaluation using CPS Disc Centrifuge DSC24000 UHR, an average of 20 nm homogeneous dispersion was observed.
