Dry reforming of two green-house gases (CH4 and CO2) to convert to syngas (mixture of CO and H2) has gained deep research interests lately. Several technologies were proposed to convert the CO2 and CH4, such as the catalysis conversion, plasma conversion and the combination of catalyst and plasmas. In the catalytic reforming of CO2 and CH4, the carbon deposition on catalysts is a big problem because of the deactivation of catalysts. Several plasma processes were studied to reform the CO2 and CH4, such as thermal plasma, dielectric barrier discharge (DBD), corona discharge, AC arc discharge and glow discharge processes. Recently, the combination of plasma and heterogeneous catalysis has attracted more interests. In our research, the CO2 reforming of CH4 to syngas has been investigated by the combination of DBD plasma reactor and zeolite catalysts. The experiments were controlled for various process conditions, changing the ratio of CH4/CO2, the voltage and frequency applied for plasmas and the total gas flow rate to reactor. The experimental results show that the conversion efficiencies of CH4 and CO2 increase by using the zeolite catalysts and plasmas simultaneously, comparing to the conversion efficiencies by using plasmas only.
