Keywords: , , ,

The controlled bioreactor landfill has been demonstrated at progressively larger scales, now up to 300,000 tons waste in multiple cells, since 1994. The approach enables recovery of renewable methane energy from landfills to maximum potential. It combines optimimal conditions for waste bioconversion with design adaptations that allow highly efficient capture of the generated methane. This ongoing work is widely reported in technical literature and recognized worldwide.
