The morphology of polymer nanocomposite, and the degree of dispersion of the MWCNTs were studied using SEM and light transmission microscopy. Both MWCNT ropes and aggregates were observed; also wetting of the nanotubes by the matrix was evidenced. Through tensile testing, an increase of up to 28% in elastic modulus was observed with respect to the matrix material. The change in elastic modulus of the cryogenically mixed nanocomposites was compared to experimental values reported in the literature by other authors.
