Glucose and lactate are the most important metabolites which characterize physiological state and the metabolic activity of living cells. Consequently, development of a stable glucose biosensor is an interesting and important research topic for medicine and biochemistry. Currently there are different types of glucose sensors which successfully apply to control of glucose concentration in blood. But traditional electrochemical approach of glucose sensors fabrication for glucose monitoring in cells growth media (DMEM, HBSS) were failed because they lost sensitivity, reproducibility and stability. A glucose biosensor based on the electrochemical detection of enzymatically generated H2O2 was constructed by the spin-coating deposition of glucose oxidase via glutaraldehyde cross-linking on the Pt electrode, followed by coating with a Nafion outer layer to obtain high selectivity and stability. . Special design of microfluidic devices (Nanophysiometer) were developed for extracellular monitoring of glucose for single cardiomyocytes cell. The paper presents results of the study of glucose consumption by single cardiomyocytes cell in Tyrod’s solution (pH 7.4, 0.5 mM Ca2+, 10 mM glucose) using our thin film glucose sensor.
