Y-type zeolite have high TMAH removal efficiency when pH>4 with solid-liquid ratio (S/L) of 2 g/L in 20 minutes. The correlation coefficients of Langmuir and Freundlich isotherm models are 0.973 and 0.997, respectively. The exponential constant of Freundlich model (n) is 3.002 (>1.0) indicated that the adsorption behavior is favorable. The kinetic results indicated that the adsorption behavior is fast and can be described by pseudo-second-order model (R2=0.999) with the calculated equilibrium adsorption capacity (qe) and rate constant (k) are 28.6 mg/g and 0.0191 g/mg/min, respectively. After ten times cyclic experiments, the recovery rate of qe is 98.8%, which means that this material can be used for long term adsorption-desorption operation.
