A composite of activated carbon prepared from palm kernel shells (PKSAC) and magnesium oxide (MgO) particles was synthesis through hydrothermal method in ratio 10:1. The Palm kernel was carbonized at 6000C for two hours, it was acidified with Phosphoric acid and pyrolyzed at 4000C for two hours to obtain ACP. The magnesium oxide (MgO) was obtained using Sol-gel method. The physicochemical analysis of the composites materials revealed the values of pH and pHpzc as 7.8 and 7.7 respectively, bulk density 0.42g/mol, BET surface area of 984.053 m2/g. The influence of various factors such as adsorbent dosage, initial dye concentration, contact time, pH, and temperature was investigated. The maximum adsorption observed at 30 minutes with the pH 7. The composites sample were characterized by scanning electron microscopy which shows the porous structure, FTIR shows C=O stretching(1609.64cm-1) C-H bending(1391.8 cm-1)and Mg-O stretching (476.15 cm-1) while the EDX shows Mg(5.15%), O (45.62%) and C(49.23%) which indicated the embedment of activated carbon and MgO. Adsorption isotherm followed Freundlich, Langmuir and Temkin but best described by Temkin model (R2=0.874). Kinetic studies showed that the adsorption favoured by pseudo-second order kinetic model (R2 = 0.999). Various thermodynamic parameters such as Δ
